Unless you've been living under a rock for the last few years, you've probably heard of the FireFox web browser. FireFox is a relatively new open-source web browser and it's completely free.
You may wonder why you need another web browser; If you're a Mac user you probably already have Safari, and if you're a windows user, you probably have Internet Explorer. The answer lies in the words "Open Source". The Firefox browser software source code is open to the public (unlike Safari and I.E) which makes it very easy for 3rd party developers to create plug-ins that extend the functionality of the Firefox browser beyond anything you've ever seen before.
Like the browser itself, most of these plug-ins are completely free for download directly from Mozilla (The organization that wrote the code). There are literally thousands of plug-ins that provide a wide range of extended functionality, from Web 2.0 features to blogging, bookmarking utilities to specialized toolbars. The entire list can be seen here.
As a professional online marketer, I'm always on the lookout for new software and techniques that can help me to improve my understanding of the online competitive landscape - particularly in regard to search engine marketing - with the end goal of helping clients to gain top search engine rankings for their appropriate keywords.
With over 50 Billion searches a year in the U.S. alone, search engine marketing has become extremely important to insure that your company or organization can be found when prospects come looking. I will share more about that below but first, you'll need the firefox browser installed.
